Equal commissioners’ poll to the International Women’s Day

Our faculties Equal Commissioners ask for Feedback on the International Women’s Day through their poll. They write:

Dear members of our “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences,
dear colleagues,
dear students,

Do we still need an (Inter-national) Women’s Day? This question is on our minds on the occasion of March 8th – International Women’s Day. We can quickly think of a number of pros and cons,

for example

  • For greater visibility of women’s contributions
  • To draw attention to inequalities in everyday life
  • To address women’s rights in a global comparison

against

  • And other marginalized groups?
  • This symbolism does not bring about change.
  • Equality is indeed achieved in the law!

We will analyze the responses anonymously and publish them in an appropriately prepared form within the faculty. We are asking ourselves what perspectives exist at our faculty regarding this topic. Please help us learn more about the current relevance of gender equality aspects in our faculty, so that we can develop targeted offerings and provide information based on this. This time, we will focus on the specific example of International Women’s Day.

Sincerely,
yours Equal Opportunities Officers of the “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences,
